Daily Schedule
6:00-8:30:
Arrival/Free play- each child will be greeted upon arrival and allowed to explore the classroom and play freely until the next activity
8:30-9:00:
Wash up/ Morning snack- children are required to wash their hands before they eat. This time allows for any toileting needs and to wash up and have something to eat.
9:00-10:30:
Circle time (Large group/ motor activity) - children will come together on the rug for a group discussion. We will talk about our activities for the day. Also, this time will be used for talking about the weather, our letter for the day, and counting to 100. During circle time we will also do a good morning song and other music/movement activities.
10:30-11:45: Small group/motor activities- there will be different “stations” set up around the room. Some topics these stations will address include: art, sensory, small motor, games, crafts, literacy, etc. We will use small group time to practicing different types of development skills.
11:30-12:30: Wash up/Lunch- children will need to wash their hands before having lunch. This time is also used for toileting. Children will be asked to collect their lunch from the refrigerator and a teacher will assist (if needed) with getting lunch ready.
12:30-2:00: Quiet Time- children are not required to nap at this time but everyone will be assigned a cot for rest time. Children will be able to get out their blankets, pillows, and comfort items from home during this time.
2:00-3:00: Outside Play- children will spend this hour in our outside play area.
3:00-3:30: Wash up/ Afternoon snack- children will be required to wash their hands before snack. This time will also be used for toileting and having a snack.
3:30-4:30: Book of the day/Recall- children will be asked to join again at the circle time rug to read the book to the day. This time is also used for a group discussion on what fun things we did for the day.
4:30-6:00: Free play/Pick up- children will be allowed to play freely in the room.
